The Virgil Abloh phenomenon continues into 2018, with another release of “The Ten: VaporMax” arriving at the forefront of the sneaker scene. The man behind the of-the-moment label Off-White, Abloh’s zeitgeist-defining taste strips back Nike’s extensive archive for a unique look of the advanced sneaker. Gravity-defying at the crystal clear outsole, up-top sees a deconstructed Swoosh sewn onto the Flyknit uppers, offsetting the “AIR” to the lateral side and “SHOELACES” to the lacing. Packed with the cult designer’s key codes, notably, the ironic quotation marks around everything, a strong emphasis on branding, and a heavy dose of post-modernism make this another outstanding release.
